This letter is to thank you and Anchor ClimateCare for the professional work you have done at our house; fixing the defective work done by a competing contractor.
You know the story but I will explain it here for the benefit of other people who may read this. The short version is that there were 4 gas leaks in our 4-year old gas piping system, and Anchor has removed our entire gas piping system, replacing it with a completely new system. Anchor has changed (improved) the route of the gas pipes, and did the job properly.
Four years ago, the previous owner of this house had the old oil furnace replaced with a new natural gas furnace and new gas piping system. The contractor was one of your competitors, a low-priced, 'high-energy' outfit whose trucks we often see on the road. We bought the house a few months later.
The first gas leak, in the gas piping system, happened in early 2003, about 2 months after we moved in. Three more leaks occured in the next 3 years; the last one was in August 2006. Each time a gas leak occured, Enbridge inspectors shut down our gas system. All of this was stressful to us. We installed a natural gas detector in our basement (it detected 2 or 3 of the leaks). Each time, the original contractor returned to 'repair' the system (even though they legally didn't have to, because the warranty was with the previous owner).
After the 4th gas leak, I decided to have the gas piping system replaced with a new system, installed by Anchor.
Like I said, Anchor not only replaced the gas pipe system, but your workers also fixed several obvious defects, which had been pointed out by Enbridge inspectors. Defects like a pipe that was, incredibly, bent around a floor support, a lack of mandatory support brackets, and a poorly-chosen route for the old system. Anchor's installation took longer to do, but it was done right, and we are happy with it.
